Kaplan Tutoring is looking for outstanding sales, operations, and business professionals with a passion for academic excellence to help launch a new brand that will grow alongside a wide range of existing educational products and services within the Kaplan, Inc. family. Position Overview:


Under the supervision of the Vice President, the Director will grow operating income through local marketing, sales, staff development, and measurable student academic progress. Directors will directly manage and develop a staff of 1-3 full-time employees and indirectly manage a staff of 25-75 part-time employees. They will form strong relationships with parents, forge relationships with schools, community leaders, and local businesses as well as inspire their students and employees. Compensation will include a competitive base salary and an annual commission plan tied to financial performance.





Responsibilities:


• Manage the business to key performance metrics including:


o Sales, revenue, and lead growth


o Student retention and academic excellence


o Expense management including payroll, inventory, AR, and AP


• Hire, train, manage, and develop a high quality staff


• Ensure aggressive and consistent Marketing and Business Development strategies are in place


• Take an active (in some Markets primary) role in the execution of sales, marketing, and promotional programs


• Forge relationships with local schools, families, organizations, and community leaders


• Provide enthusiastic, hands-on customer service every day


• Ensure all students meet and exceed company benchmarks for academic progress


• Oversee facilities management of both in Center and off-site locations


• Manage the business and all real time customer issues independently at least two days per week (depending on location)





Requirements:


• Bachelor’s Degree; excellent academic record


• 5+ years experience in a sales or retail management capacity


• Sharp focus on revenue generation opportunities and the bottom line


• Demonstrated operational excellence


• Entrepreneurial spirit


• Passion for impacting the education industry


• Ability to confidently drive ongoing sales and new student enrollments


• Strong leadership ability, including motivating and developing others


• Willingness to get your hands dirty and take a roll up your sleeves approach to the business


• Persuasive and enthusiastic personality
